Osun Poll Defeat Signals End of APC's Reign, Says Atiku Group

A group under the auspices of The Atiku Mobilisers Ekiti (TAME) has declared that the defeat suffered by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Osun State governorship poll was an indication that the party is fast losing grip in the country. The pro-Atiku Abubakar group posited that the victory recorded by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) despite that the APC controls virtually all the political structures in Osun State signaled gradual end to the ruling party's reign, and pointed to the fact that it now stands the chance of winning the 2023 presidency. The group was reacting to the victory recorded by the PDP candidate, Mr. Ademola Adeleke, over the incumbent state Governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, in the just concluded state governorship poll. In a congratulatory message jointly signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the political group, Dr. Sikiru Tae Lawal and Chief Makanjuola Ogundipe, in Ado Ekiti respectively, on Tuesady, the group commended the state electorate for resisting vote buying, and voted according to their consciences. It maintained that the foregoing depicted that the citizens are gradually disentangling themselves from political servitude and oppression. The group appealed to Nigerians to vote for the former Vice President Atiku in 2023 presidential election in order to bring a sigh of hope after the APC "misrule." The political organisation appealed to Nigerians to learn from the steadfastness of Osun State voters and reenact same electoral wand that would end APC-led government, by bringing PDP back to power to redirect the country to the path of development. According to them, "We congratulate our brother and PDP candidate, Ademola Adeleke, for reigniting victory for the PDP and rescuing Osun citizens from oppression and mis-governance. "Unseating a sitting governor is not an easy task, especially while being supported by moneybags and godfathers, who were desperate to win the election. "We are elated that elections are gradually being taken away from moneybags. Performances and good track records will henceforth suffice to winning elections as demonstrated in the governorship contest. "Nigerians must brace up and be resolute to save the country from drifting into total collapse by voting Alhaji Abubakar Atiku as the next president in 2023."
