Crisis Rocks PDP As New Faction Emerges, Opens New Secretariat In Abuja

The crises rocking the main opposition party in Nigeria, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reached a new level with the emergence of a parallel faction.

Led by Emmanuel Nwosu, the group, which referred to itself as Fresh PDP with the slogan ‘Fresh PDP… PDP First’, are loyalists of one of the chairmanship candidates in the recently concluded National Convention of the party.

The group has called for the nullification of the party’s convention held on December 9 at the Eagle Square in Abuja.

While briefing journalists at the party’s secretariat located at Tito Broz street, off Jimmy Carter street, Asokoro, Nwosu said the process leading to the emergence of Uche Secondus and the National Working Committee of the PDP was fraught with illegality and abuse of electoral process.
