Senator representing Kano Central, Rabiu Musa
Kwankwaso, has stated that President Muhammadu Buhari is misinformed to have
said that he (Kwankwaso) diverted state funds for his presidential campaign, and that Kano
State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, completed the projects he abandoned, saying
it’s not true.
According to Kwankwaso, "The president was
misinformed. He has no idea about what is going on in Kano.
"There is no project left behind by me that
was completed by Ganduje. What he completed are the former Governor Ibrahim
Shekarau's uncompleted projects, not mine.
"I instructed my supporters not to react to
that as there was no need because those informing the president lied to him."
The senator stated this when spoke in a two-hour
live programme on Aminchi FM radio in Kano last Monday night while reacting to numerous
issues he had been silent about.
He explained that he is one of those who have
regards for President Buhari, and does not think it is proper for those around
him to be concocting lies to him especially in an international arena in
France.
The Kano Central senator further explained that the
projects being referred to as abandoned were in the health sector initiated and
left behind by Shekarau who has now joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Concerning the video clips showing the state Governor,
Ganduje, allegedly collecting bribe from contractors, Kwankwaso said he was
aware of the clips before they were released to the public, and pleaded for
them not to be released, but they didn't listen to his plea.
He said he is not happy that such video clips were
made public because it is an embarrassment to the state and its people
including himself.
Kwankwaso reiterated his reason for anointing Abba
Kabiru Yusuf to contest on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
in Kano, insisting that he (Yusuf) is the most qualified.
The senator explained that Yusuf was part of the
initiators and executors of all the major infrastructural development projects
in the state under him as the governor while he (Yusuf) was the state Works Commissioner.
