The Kano State Police Command on Tuesday read the riot act to riders of tricycles plying on highways and roads in the state.

The police alleged that the tricycle riders are causing unnecessary and avoidable accidents and other related inconveniences.
A statement issued by the command spokesman, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, on Tuesday and made available to journalists in Kano, said the Riders must have authentic tricycle registration plate numbers and KAROTA number affix appropriately on the tricycle.

The statement noted that "any person or persons seen carrying passengers on his side or riding without due identification marks would be arrested and prosecuted in court.”
