The Coalition For Revolution (CORE) movement, the brains behind the #RevolutionNow protest, on Thursday flayed the decision of the court for the Department of State Security (DSS) to hold their leader, Omoyele Sowore, in custody for 45 days.

Also condemning the action of the Nigerian Government against Sowore, they said the present administration has taken a tyrannical stand of absolute intolerance.

According to a statement jointly signed by two Co-conveners of CORE, Olaseni Ajai and Baba Aye, they said the coalition would further make its stand in a press conference that would hold today in Lagos.

They said the briefing was necessitated as a result of the August 5 mass protest of the coalition, the arrest of Omoyele Sowore, and more so "the absurd court ruling detaining him (Sowore) for 45 days without trial to enable investigation of unscrupulous allegations.

“Nigerians must be alerted of the tyrannical stand and absolute intolerance of the present administration."

Similarly, one of the Lagos State leaders of the movement, Beckley Kofoworola, while reacting to the court rulings and the continued detention of others custody, said, "As you can see, the court decided to grant DSS custody of Sowore for 45 days.

“Our National Working Committee would address journalists on  Friday, and by then we would let you know our next line of action.

“On those still in custody, they are bringing them in in batches, so there is a likelihood we would get all our comrades out of custody today. Whatever happens we would get to the root of that."
