65 Years Old Man Arrested For Defiling 10-Year-Old Girl

A 65-year-old man, Sulaiman Rauf, has been arrested by Ogun State Police Command for having carnal knowledge of a 10-year-old girl (name withheld)
The arrest of the suspect followed a complaint lodged by the father of the victim, Fahinhun Mathew, who reported at Idi-roko divisional headquarters that the suspect who is living in their neighbourhood sent his daughter on an errand, and when the girl came back, she was lured into his room where he forcefully had sex with her.
According to a Statement signed by the state, Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, “When the girl came out of the suspect's room, she quickly informed her father of what the suspect has just done to her, hence the report. Upon the report, the DPO Idi-roko Division CSP Aloko Amodu swiftly detailed his detectives to N0. 7 Araromi Street Ilase where the suspect resides and he was promptly arrested.

“On interrogation, the randy old man admitted having carnal knowledge of the victim but claimed not to know what led him to it. The victim has been taken to General Hospital for medical attention and report.”

Meanwhile, the state Commissioner of Police, Bashir Makama, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour unit of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for proper investigation and prosecution.

Population of Doctors in Nigeria Hits 74,543

  The number of registered medical doctors in Nigeria has risen to 74,543. According to the federal government statistics, as at 2018, the stock of professionally regulated health workers in Nigeria health sector has also recorded a significant increase. The population equates to 36.3 percent of medical doctors per 100,000 population (doctor to population ratio of 1: 2753). Fifty-nine percent of the registered medical practitioners were in good standing with 35 percent being females. UBEC Board Chairman, Daughter Freed from Captivity

The Board Chairman of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Dr. Muhammed Mahmoud, and his daughter were on Tuesday released by their abductors. Mahmoud, his daughter and several other travellers were abducted last Monday on the Kaduna-Abuja expressway when suspected bandits open fire at them. The UBEC boss’ driver was said to have been killed during the incident. There has been no information about other commuters who were abducted by the bandits.
