Twenty two students and teachers of Government Day Secondary School Misau, Bauchi State, were on Tuesday killed in road accident at Gaya Local Government Area of Kano State.
The accident which occurred at about 11.00 a.m. involved a bus conveying students on excursion to a radio station in Kano coming from Misau council area of Bauchi State.
The accident also resulted when the bus had a head on collision with an articulated vehicle while they were both trying to avoid a pot hole at Tsamiya Uku village in Gaya local government area of Kano state.
An eyewitness Adamu Ibrahim said the accident occurred closed to Maitama Sule College by Dudduru after a diversion as there is an ongoing road construction in the area.
“The bus was on high speed and same with the trailer before the driver of the bus lost control and collided with the truck that left 26 person dead,’said Adamu.

He said those injured and the corpses have been taken to Gaya General Hospital.
Spokesman of the police in Kano, DSP Magaji Musa Majia said they are already attending to the situation.
Majia noting that 22 passengers died in the crash.
