Governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha, has approved
the constitution of a committee to review the recent appointments and recruitments
in line with the resolution of the state House of Assembly.
The assembly recently dissolved and suspended all
recent appointments and recruitments made by the immediate past state Governor,
Rochas Okorocha, at the twilight of his administration.
Membership of the constituted committee are Mr. Okey
Anyanwu as Chairman, Mr. Chukwuma Nwachukwu, Mrs. Ngozi Onyirioha, Mr. Chima
Nmeregini, Mr. Bismarck Eziohuru, Mr. Justin Amafili and Mr. Donatus Ibe as
members.
The committee was charged to evaluate the recent
appointments of Head of Service, Permanent Secretaries, Solicitor General,
Accountant-General and Heads of Extra-Ministerial Departments and to examine
all staff recruitment, promotions, transfers and ‘secondments’ of officers
without following due process from 2015 to date, by applying the Public Service
Rules and Regulations.
They are also to review all extensions of service period
of retired officers and contract appointments; to investigate cases of officers
who were unduly suspended or retired from 2015 to date.
The committee shall be inaugurated at the Sam
Mbakwe Exco Chambers today by 1p.m.
