Kano State Commissioner of Police, Ahmad Iliyasu, on Monday
tendered duplicate copies of the March 9 governorship elections results to the
Governorship Election Tribunal sitting at Miller road.
Ahmad submitted 14 documents to the petition tribunal,
containing the results generated from some polling units in Gama ward.
The police Commissioner, represented by Sunday Ekwe, told
the court that the documents produced before the court were those in the
possession of the command.
The submission is in
response to an earlier directive issued
by the chairman of the tribunal, Justice Halima Shamaki.
The counsel to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),
Adegboyega Awomolo (SAN), applied to tender the documents to the court from the
bar.
The counsel representing, Kano State Governor, Abdullahi
Umar Ganduje, Offiong Offiong (SAN), raised objection against the tendering of
the duplicate result sheets by the petitioners.
He stated that the result sheets could not be tendered from
the bar, explaining that the exhibits were not Certified True Copies(CTC).
Offiong informed the tribunal that the respondent would
address the objection raised in the final written address.
