For the 26 gubernatorial aspirants of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo state, tomorrow will go down in history as a date to reckon with as their leader and Governor of the state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, on Sunday asked them to drop phone numbers on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) they signed at Government House in Ibadan to await the announcement of the top three aspirants.

The governor, apparently miffed by the N22 million charged by the party for nomination fee of aspiring governorship candidate had in the last three days being holding meetings with all the gubernatorial aspirants for a possible consensus and agreement on mode of the primary to undertake in selecting the party's flag bearer.

It could be recalled that the aspirants could not agree on a consensus arrangement prompting the need for the signing of an MOU to whip aspirants into line for them to work with whoever wins the ticket during the Indirect option already consented to by the aspirants.

At the government house on Sunday, leading aspirants like former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Chief Bayo Adelabu; a KPMG Consultant, Mr. Joseph Tegbe; the Secretary to the state Government, Mr. Lekan Alli; a businessman, Dr. Olusola Ayandele; Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Chief Niyi Akintola; former Governor Adebayo Alao Akala; a former Head of Service, Mr. Soji Eniade; a journalist, Alhaji Kehinde Olaosebikan; a former and current Commissioner for Health, Dr. Babalola Owolabi and Prof. Azeez Adeduntan respectively among others signed the agreement to work with the eventual party's flag bearer.

To forestall a possible breakdown in the talks among the aspirants, a group WhatsApp codenamed 'Oyo APC Guber Aspirants' was opened on Sunday for all the aspirants for them to begin talks among themselves ahead of the announcement.

Also, Ajimobi had on Saturday directed all serving aides aspiring for electoral offices to tender their signature this morning and face their political aspiration in full swing.
It was reliably gathered this night that Ajimobi had urged all the aspirants to be on the look out for the announcement latest this afternoon as the deadline for the purchase of the nomination forms ends tomorrow.

Other elective office for legislative arm of the government's at both the state and federal levels followed similar trend as aspirants unanimously opted for indirect primaries to determine who fly the party's flag in the 2019 poll.

The  endorsement followed a motion moved by Hon.   Olaide Olalere, an aspirant for the post of House of Assembly seat for Ibadan North East state constituency and seconded  by Mrs  Olarenwaju Otiti, an aspirant   for House of Reps for Ibadan North Federal Constituency.
