Edo Man Nabbed for Threatening to Kidnap School Principal

 For threatening to kidnap a school principal, a 27-year-old man identified as Endurance Udebu was on Sunday paraded by the Edo State Police Command.

Edubu was alleged to have demanded the sum of N400,000 from the Principal of Edeikholo Grammar School in Ubiaja, Esan South East Local Government Area of the state, Mr. Ukhun Jacob,  else he would be kidnapped.

It was gathered also that as a result of the threat, Jacob started looking for money to pay until he was advised to report the matter to the police.

Consequently, the suspect was arrested through intelligence gathering at Illushi, another community in the local government area.

Edubu told journalists that he resorted to extorting money from principal because he needed money for personal upkeep.

He said he collected the phone number of the principal from a friend.

Edo State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Danmallam, said the suspect would soon be charged to court.
