The Chairman of the Kogi State Hajj Commission, Sheikh Luqman Imam, has called on the 2019 intending pilgrims to the Holy Land of Makkah to adhere strictly to the laws of the Saudi Arabian kingdom and their leadership instructions during the period of the hajj exercise.

The chairman made the call in Okene at the weekend during the medical screening of intending pilgrims to fish out pregnant women and persons with critical and unmanageable health challenges as directed by the National Hajj Commission.

He further enjoined intending pilgrims to be patience and adhere strictly to leadership instructions, saying there is great reward in obedience and being patience.

Imam commended the state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for his support and commitment to ensure the success of the 2019 hajj exercise, and prayed to Allah to grant the governor success in all his pursuit.

Also speaking during the screening exercise, the newly appointed Kogi State Amiru-Hajj, Alhaji Baba Ango Idris, commended the intending pilgrims for their cooperation so far.

He enjoined them to adhere to the sermons of peace, patience and tolerance as preached by the chairman of the commission.

Idris called on pilgrims to obey the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, saying they must avoid carrying prohibited items to the Holy Land because of its grave consequences.
