Ekweremadu’s Brother, 10 Others Make List of Ugwuanyi’s Commissioners Nominees

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State on Tuesday forwarded the second batch of commissioner-nominees to the State House of Assembly for the confirmation.

The list which contained 12 names including that of Hon. Mathias Ekweremadu, younger brother of the former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu was sent in a letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Simon Uchenna Ortuanya and sent to the Speaker of Enugu State House of Assembly.

The latest list brought the total number or nominees to 20 as the governor has four weeks ago sent a list of 8 nominees to the Assembly which had embarked on a long recess.
 
Apart from Ekweremadu, the elder brother to Nollywood actor Kenneth Okonkwo,  Peter Okonkwo, also made the list.
 
Others are; Hon. Uchechuwku Ogbonna, Mrs. Mabel Chinwe Agbo, Mrs Adaonoh Kene-Uyanwune, Prof. Uchenna Eze, Chief Miletus Ezeuguwuorie Eze, Mr. Obi Carl Kama, Mr. Ugonna Ibe, Dr. Surv. Victor Chukwuemeka Nnam and Prof. Anthony Chukwu.
 
The governor had shortly after his inauguration for second term directed stakeholders in the 17 local government areas of the state to nominate one person each to be appointed as commissioner in the state. Ends
