President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived Ankara, the Turkish capital ahead of the D-8 summit taking place in Istanbul on Friday.
The president, according to a tweet by Presidency Nigeria on its twitter handle, @NGRPresident, said Buhari who left the country about noon on Wednesday arrived at the Esenboga International Airport, Ankara, with his wife, son and daughter.
He was said to have arrived at 8: 20p.m. local time.
"Pres@MBuhari arrives Esenboga Int'l Airport, Ankara, Turkey. Received by Nigeria's Ambassador to Turkey; Gov of Ankara and other official," the tweet read.
An earlier tweet before the take-off, containing the president's photograph and those of his family members said: "President @MBuhari, and son and daughter aboard the presidential jet, enroute to Turkey, tomorrow."
