Herdsmen Attacks: Benue Declares Three-Day Mourning

Benue State Government on Monday declared three days of mourning for those killed in recent attacks on communities in Logo and Guma local government areas of the state.
According to a statement by Governor, Samuel Ortom, the mourning period will be from Tuesday to Thursday this week and ends with a church service for the victims at the IBB Square in Makurdi.

The church service will be followed by mass burial of the victims bringing an end to the three-day mourning period.

It was also stated that flags will fly at half-mast during the period while offices will close at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Thursday, the last day of the mourning, has been declared a work-free day in the state.
