Tragedy struck on Sunday on Olu Aboderin Street, Onipetesi, Lagos State, as one of the bullets unleashed by some Anti-cultism Squad of the Nigerian Police operatives struck a boy watching the Liverpool vs Totteham match.

According to an eye witness account, the officers had come to the area to arrest a guy on dreadlocks. He alleged that they started shooting sporadically after the arrest, only for one of the bullets to hit the boy.

The victim was subsequently rushed to the General Hospital in Ikeja, where he was confirmed dead.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, said the situation was under control.
He said: “We received the report and have mobilised our teams to arrest the situation. The state Commissioner of Police has ordered an investigation into the incident.”
