Nigeria’s Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has disclosed that he is considering challenging President Muhammadu Buhari in next year’s presidential election.
According to him in an interview with Bloomberg at his Abuja residence last Tuesday, “I am consulting and actively considering it. “I believe I can make the change.”
Saraki, who recently defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, unsuccessfully sought the APC ticket in 2015 where Buhari emerged flagbearer.
The Kwara native politician, a former member of the PDP before his defection in 2014, says if he runs it would be on the platform of the PDP where other heavy weights have signified their intention to run the highest office.
