The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has suspended its presidential candidate, Donald Duke, and his party primaries opponent, Prof. Jerry Gana, over alleged anti-party activities.
Yemi Akinbode, SDP’s director of media and publicity, announced this during a press briefing at the party secretariat in Abuja, on Tuesday.
It could be recalled that Duke, former Cross-River state governor was declared winner of the party’s primary which was contested in court by Gana who got a favourable ruling which was upturned by the Court of Appeal.
SDP would later endorse incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari for the presidency; an act which was denounced by Duke who insisted he remains on the ballot for the presidential election slated for February 16.
