President Donald Trump defeated the nominee many people
thought would be the first woman president — and according to a new book,
Ivanka Trump has hopes of one day claiming that title for herself.

In her book Kushner, Inc., journalist Vicky Ward writes that
the first daughter and White House senior adviser has ambitions of following in
her father’s political footsteps.
“Her father’s reign in Washington, D.C., is, she believes,
the beginning of a great American dynasty,” Ward writes (per the New York
Times), citing a claim reportedly made by former director of the president’s
National Economic Council Gary Cohn that the younger Trump has got the Oval
Office in her sights.
While that may be music to the ears of loyal Trump fans who
leave comments urging Ivanka to run for office on social media, you can count
outspoken Trump critic Chelsea Handler out. The comedian took to Twitter to
shoot down the first daughter’s rumored political dreams.
Though, as has been famously pointed out, white women came
out in large numbers to vote for Trump in 2016, critics have cast doubt on his
eldest daughter’s feminist credentials. Many have accused her of being
complicit in her father’s misogynistic behavior by not publicly challenging
comments like “grab them by the p***y.”
Handler’s tweet caused something of an uproar. The former
late night host’s fans showed their agreement by taking their own shots at the
37-year-old Trump.
They also had little time for those who voiced support for
the “incredible and beautiful” Trump.
Despite Handler and her fans’ objections, the mother of
three does have some folks pushing for a Trump version of the Bush dynasty. Her
latest Instagram post fetched comments like this one from a supporter:
“Hopefully you will run for president someday. You have my vote.”
