A female student of the Kogi State Polytechnic, Miss Adebanjo Adetutu, was last Sunday kidnapped  along Itakpe-Lokoja road.

Miss Adedutu, a Higher National Diploma (HNDII) student of the department of Office Technology Management (OTM), was kidnapped along Itakpe-Lokoja-Okene road on her way to her home town Ogun State after her first semester examinations.

Her abduction is coming in the same week when three chieftains of the Advanced Peoples Democratic Alliance (APDA) Kogi State chapter, were kidnapped along Idah road in the state.

According to a statement issued and signed by the Director of Students’ Affairs, National Association of Kogi State Students (NAKOSS), Salihu Lukman, which copy was made to journalists on Monday, she was kidnapped last Sunday, stressing that the kidnappers had earlier requested for N10million and later reduced their ransom to N500,000.

“As I speak to you, negotiations are still on going. Today makes it the fourth day and the poor mother of Adetutu who happens to be a widow can’t afford the ransom.  “We are pleading with the government and the public to come to the aid of this poor child so that we can secure her release,” he stated.

Lukman said the state police command had been informed of the incident, noting that the state Commissioner of Police, Ali Janga, also promised to secure Adetutu’s release within the shortest possible time.
