The Federal High Court in Kano on Tuesday nullified the candidature of President Muhammadu Buhari Personal Assistant on Broadcast Media, Mr Shaaban Ibrahim Sharada.

The Court declared Mukhtar Ishaq Yakasai, winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) direct primaries the legitimate candidate of House of Representatives Kano Municipal Council.

The Presiding Judge, Justice Sa’adatu Ibrahim, in a ruling, said the primary election that produced Sharada was faulty.

She ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognise Yakasai as the duly elected APC candidate Kano Municipal Federal Constituency in the general elections.

Yakasai , a former Chairman of Kano Municipal Council instituted the case against Sharada.

He filed the case on the ground that he was the person duly elected at the APC primary election held last year not Shaaban Sharada.

Yakasai was recently appointed a commissioner for Special Duties by Kano state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje.
