Passengers processing system was temporarily paralysed yesterday at the international wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMIA), Lagos.

However, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) said the outage affected only the D wing section of the terminal, confirming the temporary power outage.

The General Manager, Corporate affairs of FAAN, Mrs. Henrietta Yakubu, explained that the outage was caused by a minor electric fault.

Yakubu said power was later restored at the wing, noting that engineers were already working to rectify the fault and permanently resolve the problem.

She however added that no flight was affected by the outage even as she gave the assurance that FAAN would always live to its responsibilities of safe and secure airports under its control.

“The management would like to assure the public and airport users of their safety, security and comfort at all times,” Yakubu said.
