Kwankwaso’s Father Endorses Ganduje for Second Term

Musa Saleh-Kwankwaso, father of the former Governor of Kano State, Rabi’u Kwankwaso, has endorsed the re-election bid of the incumbent governor of the state, Abdullahi Ganduje.

Saleh-Kwankwaso, who is the district Head of Madobi Local Government Area of the state, assured Ganduje that he would work tirelessly with all his village heads and community leaders to see to the victory of the governor at the forthcoming gubernatorial election.

In his campaign tour, Ganduje was in Madobi council are when he visited the district head at his residence, alongside other village heads and Imams on Tuesday.

“When you came in after your inauguration in May 29, 2015, we were absolutely sure that you would bring development to every nook and cranny of the state, and Alhamdulillah, this is what you are doing. So we need more of this development,” Kwankwaso’s father was quoted as saying in a statement by Abba Anwar, Chief Press Secretary to Ganduje.

He added: “We are ready to always support you and get you more closer to the people. You really love your people as a committed and focused leader. We appreciate your good work.”

He further encouraged that “Your Excellency we believe in your leadership style as a people-oriented governor, who believes in developing his people in all sectors of the society.”

The statement added that thousands of party faithful welcomed Ganduje in the local government as the governor’s campaign train passed through Kwankwaso and Kanwa towns before reaching to the District Head’s residence.

He inaugurated some projects in the local government.

In his response, Ganduje made it categorically clear that he was in Madobi to seek fatherly prayers over his re-election bid, adding that “we are in our home. Here you are with your children. We came to visit our father and get his blessing.

“We are sure you will give us what we are here for. So when you accept to support my gubernatorial race, we are not surprise, because this is just a case of father and his son.”

He also conveyed the message of President Muhammadu Buhari, thanking all those who prayed hard for his quick recovery when he was flown out of the country some months back.

After thanking them, he stated that “another message from our dear President Buhari to the people of Madobi and Kano in general is that he needs your votes for the second time in the forthcoming elections. He directed me to also request for your votes for all other elective positions in our party, All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ganduje assured the District Head and all other village heads and Imams that he would do his best to do more than what he has done in his first tenure,” he said in the statement.
