The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has alleged that the
Police headquarters on Thursday directed the Kano State Commissioner of Police to release 17 seized sacks of thumb-printed ballots to the advantage of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State.

The coalition further claimed that the presidency wants to lie to the public that the ballot papers were for voter sensitisation.

In a statement issued by its spokesperson, Ikenga Ugochinyere, CUPP alleged that the arrested agents of Ganduje have confessed to the local police, adding that there was pressure on the Inspector General of Police (IG) from the presidency to release them.

According to CUPP, "More of the already thumb-printed ballots which are in APC favour are still on their way to Kano. This is how Ganduje wants to raise his impossible five million votes for Buhari."

The coalition called on Kano people to rush to the state Police
Command where the culprits have allegedly been taken to avoid the sacks being taken away as well as ensure the culprits are paraded.
