5 Die in Rivers Re-run Election

There were rivers of blood on Saturday with no less than five persons killed in the Rivers State re-run election.

Of the figure, three were killed in Eleme Local Government Area, one was killed in Andoni while a casualty was recorded in Obia/Akpor Local Government Area.

Pockets of violence were also recorded in many parts of the state.

However, election materials did not arrive most wards in Opobo. At the time of this report, election was yet to take place in a number of areas in the LGA.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, is yet to say a word about why voting did not take place in those areas.
