
Sokoto State Government, has donated food items to family of quadruplets at the Specialist Hospital in Sokoto.
The items donated included bags of rice, cartons of milk, cartons of tomatoes, baby wears, among others.
Presenting the food items to the parents of the quadruplets in Sokoto at the weekend, the state Commissioner for Health, Alhaji Balarabe Kakale, said the gesture was to assist the patents to take care of the babies.
He said the state government would continue to cater for the needs of the new born babies and their parents.
“We are here to present these items as a means of support to you. The birth of a child is a moment of joy to us. And because God decided to give you four at the same time, our joys are four-fold.
“We thank God for this joy and addition to your family and we will continue to monitor the progress of the children through you,"he said.
The commissioner said the visit was part of the ministry's concern and encouragement to maternal and child health in the state, advising husbands in the state to provide nutritious food to their pregnant wives.
Kakale said this was to improve their health and that of their unborn babies.
In a remark, the father of the children, who hails from Gidan madi in Tangaza local government area of the state, Malam Isa Usman, expressed gratitude to the state government for the gesture.
He, therefore, called on wealthy individuals in the state to assist him so as to ensure good health of the babies.
