19-Year-Old Yakuchi Kidnaps, Sells 6-Year-old Brother in Niger

The police in Minna, Niger State, on Wednesday apprehended one 19 year old Aliyu Mohammed Yakuchi for allegedly kidnapping his six year old brother Yamusa Ibrahim Yakuchi.



Aliyu Mohammed Yakuchi was said to have after abducting his brother and sold him on credit at N20,000 to a herbalist, Mohammed Legbo  of Afuwagi village in Katcha Local Government Area of the state.



The herbalist was said to have planned to use the boy for money rituals.



The incident took place at Nagenu village in the Katcha council area of the state last Thursday.



According to a police source, the agreement between Aliyu and Legbo was that the money (N20, 000) would be paid when the little boy commence vomiting money.



However, it was said that before the herbalist could complete the rituals on Yamusa Ibrahim other villagers got wind of the incident and immediately informed the police.



The police, it was learnt, was able to arrest Yakuchi but the herbalist escaped with the six year old boy.

The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Muahammed Abubakar, when contacted, confirmed the incident and said a serious hunt for the herbalist and the little boy had commenced.


Abubakar, however, noted that the police would not leave any stone unturned to get the boy rescued and the herbalist arrested.
