NYSC Member Dies of Lassa Fever in Kaduna



The selfless service of late corps member, Ogboji Kelechi
Aaron, who died in active service as a medical doctor after treating a patient with  Lassa fever in Kaduna State was today hailed by the
Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps ( NYSC), Brigadier, Brigadier General Johnson Olawumi.


The NYSC DG who was represented by the Director of Corps Welfare and Inspectorate, Mr. Michael Ahile, at a formal condolence visit to the family of the late Corps member at
Igweledoha Amagu, Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, described late Ogboji as an exceptional Corps member who was fully dedicated to his duties and in the process paid the supreme sacrifice.

According to a statement from the NYSC's national secretariat,
Olawumi called on Corps members serving in all
health institutions to always apply standard precautionary measures in the discharge of their duties so as to protect themselves from the hazards of the profession.

Ebonyi State and the entire nation would greatly miss the young Doctor and all he had to offer to the nation in the medical profession."

Until his death, late Dr. Ogboji Kelechi, who hailed from Igweledoha Amagu in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, was serving at St Louis Hospital Zonkwa in Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
