The National Association of Nigerian Prostitutes (NANP) on
Tuesday held a solidarity rally in support of the Peoples Democratic Party
(PDP) candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, in the forthcoming presidential
election.
The association of hookers marched along some streets of
Abuja on Tuesday in solidarity for Atiku, who is the front runner among the
opposition candidates bidding to defeat incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC)
on February 16.
The prostitutes in their hundreds, and carrying different
banners, said they would mobilise their members across the nation to vote for
Atiku.
NANP General Secretary, Sandra Efosa, disclosed Tuesday that
the association resolved to back Atiku’s candidacy because of prevailing
economic hardship in the country. She also lamented that their members were
hard hit by low patronage.
The group added that they had also carefully studied the
policy blueprint of Atiku on how he plans to revive the economy.
“We are mobilising
our members for the PDP candidate. We are going to cast our votes for Atiku. In
addition, we are also offering free service to members of the public if Atiku
emerges the winner of the election,” declared Efosa.
