The Nigerian army on Sunday said there is no part of troubled Borno state under the occupation of the terrorist group, Boko Haram.

Dikwa was said to have been recaptured late February by Chadian troops on regional cooperation even as many resident of Maiduguri said they received the  Friday announcement of another recapturing with bewilderment.

Gusau who is Deputy Director Army Public Relations, said: "This is the first time we entered Dikwa and liberated the town from Boko Haram. It is true there was information to the effect that Dikwa was once liberated but not by Nigerian troops. But this time around, we have recaptured the town and killed 20 Boko Haram terrorists during the battle."

Gusau said: "The military would never recaptured any town or community and then leave," promising that "We won't allow Boko Haram to seize the town again, never again. It won't happen."

He revealed that troops engaged the insurgents in fierce battle to liberate Dikwa but insisted that no soldier died in action but 20 insurgents were killed and some cache of weapon recovered from the battle ground.

"We met resistance from Boko Haram and 20 were killed during battle. We recovered various weapons including one General Purpose Machine Guns, six AK 47, three Magazine, one Tafor Rifle, one PKM Rifle, 12.7 mm anti-aircraft ammunition and 7.62 mm special," Gusau said.

He also disclosed that three Sim cards of  with 4 GB memory card and a cell phone were discovered while some Vehicles and motorcycles laden with IED were destroyed. He solicited for the support of all Nigerians to defeat Boko Haram in the on going counter-insurgency operation in the three northeast states of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe.

Gusau said as it presently stands no Borno territory which is the area of operation of the 7 Div is under the Boko Haram, explaining further that the insurgents do attack and retreat but could never be said to have any place under them.

He said before long the insurgents would be a thing of the past.
