Police Declare Sunday Wanted for Same-sex Act


The Nigerian Police Force has is declared one Obasi Joshua Sunday for alleged crime related to homosexuality.

Mr. Sunday was alleged to have  committed a same-sex act with his partner last week, July 15, 2015, a crime against  Federal Republic of Nigeria  criminal  code act, which  states  that  any  person  who  has carnal  knowledge  of any person  against  the order of nature is liable  for 14  years  imprisonment,  while attempted homosexual  activity  is punishable with  seven  years’  imprisonment while supporting gay or lesbians activities,  club or programme  is punishable with  ten  years imprisonment.

In a statement signed by the Lagos State, the state Police Command which declared Sunday wanted on behalf of the Inspector General of Police (IG) added that all well-meaning Nigerians who have information about his whereabouts should alert the police immediately as well as the state government, and such patriotic Nigerian would be rewarded  handsomely.

According to the statement, “One Mr. Obasi Joshua Sunday has been declared wanted by the Nigerian police for an alleged crime of homosexuality, a crime punishable by 14 years imprisonment. Any person with information about his whereabouts should please come forward as the police will provide him or her protection and would be handsomely rewarded for patriotism.”
