‘Resume Or Resign’ Movement Suepends Protest

Singer and entertainer, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charlie Boy, has announced the suspension of the “Resume or Resign” protest.

This development came a day after members of the group, including Oputa, were assaulted at Wuse market in Abuja.

It would be recalled that Charlie boy, alongside, Adeyanju Deji, convened the protest seeking the return of President Muhhamadu Buhari to Nigeria following weeks of medical treatment in London or his resignation.

While announcing the suspension at Unity Fountain in Abuja last Wednesday, Charly Boy said the next line of action would be made known in the days ahead.

He however insisted that although members of the group had received death threats, they were not deterred.

“We are not deterred by the intimidation and harassment by the sponsored thugs and we cannot be cowed by a few group of people,” he said.

“What government want to do is to ensure that we have a clash with the hired crowd and we will not allow that to happen," Oputa stated.
