The Presidential Candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP), Kingsley Moghalu, has carpeted President Muhammadu Buhari and his APC-led administration, saying they have woefully failed Nigerians, and that there's no redemption for them
Moghalu who flagged off his presidential campaign at the old parade ground in Abuja on Thursday noted that Buhari has failed to fulfill the three main promises he made to the citizens before assuming office in 2015.
According to him, "I want us to be clear in our mind that President Buhari and the APC administration have failed Nigerians. There's no redemption for them. They promised us three things when they were coming in 2015 which are security, put an end to corruption and good economy and they failed in all. Nigeria has 23% unemployment and 54% youth unemployment. The past 20 years politicians have won elections but in 2019, the people of Nigeria will win."
"In the next four years, I will make Nigeria the greatest black city in the world. Our young people will have jobs, there will not be 20 million unemployed Nigerians, there will be millions of new jobs, we will heal Nigeria and build a new nation. It's time for something new and different, a new Nigeria and the only way for us to have a new Nigeria is that we must retire the old Nigeria. We must retire the old recycled, incompetent and visionless politicians who have held us down."
While addressing market women, Moghalu assured that women will have business start up funds rather than loans which will be paid back with interest
"We are not going to grant you loan, rather with our one trillion Naira venture capital fund, we will give you money for your business and you won't pay back. This venture capital funds will help to create jobs for millions of people because we will establish skills training center for each and every local government in Nigeria, when you learn that skills you will come to the venture capital fund and we will give you capital to start your business and that is the revolution."
The Former Deputy Governor of CBN revealed that if elected, he will ensure that women will have 50/50 equity in his cabinet.
He said, "For the Women, in Moghalu Presidency women will have equality. There will be 50/50 gender equity in my cabinet, one man one woman for the ministerial positions. The women and youths of this country will finally be liberated."
He added that time has reached for youth and women in this country to be in governance and 2019 is not an ordinary election but rather it's the hour of Nigeria's destiny.
Also the National Chairman of YPP, Bishop Amakiri while delivering his welcome address urged the citizens to vote for the right candidate who is ready to deliver.
"We are here to solicit for your support to rescue this country. We are having a social contract with you. We are here to be agents of the people who are coming to rescue Nigeria from the quagmire that they are in today. We are here to rescue us from the hands of people who have continued to keep this country, we want to fight nepotism. The time is up for them to leave for the paradigm shift that's about to take place in Nigeria and YPP is the catalyst for this movement," He said
