Kidnappers Free Taraba Deputy Governor Mother 

Barely twenty four hours after she was abducted from her residence, mother of the Taraba State Deputy Governor, Hajia Beli Manu, has been freed by her abductors.
Hajia Manu was abducted by unknown gunmen last Monday at Mutum Biyu, Gassol local government area at about 9.00pm in the presence of her family members and taken to an unknown destination.
She was however released by her abductors on Tuesday night and was seen entering her residence unaccompanied at about 11.40p.m. to the pleasant surprise of her family members who had been thrown into serious grieve by her abduction.
Confirming her release, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Mr Joseph Kwaji told Thisday that she was released due to the pressure mounted by the state police command.
He further disclosed that the command was already closing-in on the kidnappers before her release as he maintained that the command would not relent until they are brought to book.
Narrating her ordeal to the state police commissioner, Shaba Alkali who visited her after her release, Hajia Manu, who was released in good condition, disclosed that she was treated with courtesy by her abductors.
She further stated that she was offered food and drink and was not in anyw brutalised by her captors before she was eventually released along Bali/Mutum Biyu road from where she found her way home.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Gassol local government, Hon Bashir Tukura has expressed gratitude to God for sparing the life of the 80-year-old mother of the deputy governor, Hon Harum a Manu.
Tukura, who was visibly elated by the development, stated that the entire local government was thrown into grieve and confusion by the sad development stressing that the council has never witnessed a case of kidnapping before.
