Nex month, Global Questions, the BBC’s highly
respected, internationally renowned, current affairs programme travels to Lagos
to raise important questions around how African youths are mobilising to raise
political awareness.
Recording in the Nigerian city on July 4, the
discussion will be presented by Zeinab Badawi and will feature a panel of
opinion formers who will face a live audience with important questions about
how youth are shaping the future of their continent.
Bringing together high-profile Africans from the
worlds of politics, civil society and culture, the English-speaking panel will
include Aminu Tambuwal, Governor of Sokoto State; Samson Itodo, Executive
Director Youth Initiative for Advocacy Growth and Advancement; Ayisa Osori,
lawyer and author; Obiageli Ezekwesili, Africa Economic Development Policy
Initiative, and Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, one of Nigeria’s most recognised TV
personalities.
The BBC is inviting members of the public to attend
the recording of Global Questions in Lagos on Wednesday, July 4.
Global Questions will be giving ordinary citizens
in Africa the opportunity to question experts about what the future holds for
young people in their society – from how they’ll make their mark politically,
economically and culturally to what kinds of social change they want to bring.
Questions can be submitted through a range of BBC platforms including Twitter
by using the hashtag #BBCGlobalQuestions, sending a Whatsapp message on
+447497371629 or emailing globalquestions@bbc.co.uk.
The programme will be broadcast on the BBC’s
international news channel, BBC World News on Saturday, July 28, at 0910 and
2110 GMT and 0210 and 1510 GMT on Sunday, July 29. It will also air BBC World
