 2 Wanted Boko Haram Kingpins Arrested in Taraba
Taraba State Police Commissioner, Mr. Shaba Alkali has confirmed the arrest of two Boko Haram kingpins, Abdulmumuni Abdullahi  and Ali Audu (alias Dungu) in the state.
The two kingpins, who are among the 100 wanted Boko Haram suspects declared by the military, were arrested on 22nd of February and 5th of March, 2016 at Gassol and Bali local government areas of the state.
The state Commisioner of Police, Mr. Shaba Alkali who disclosed this to journalists today in his office during a press briefing said while Ali Audu alias Dungu was arrested in Tella in Gassol local government on February 22 while Abdulmumuni Abdullahi was arrested in Bali on March 5.
The two suspects, who have already been handed over to the Nigerian Army in Yobe state, according to the Commissioner, were arrested from their hideouts based on a credible information from informants.
Ali Audu, This day gathered, was picked up by Police intelligence Officers at Tella, where the CP described as a hotbed of Boko Haram in the state while pretending to be selling Suya.
Alkali, who expressed his commitment to rid the state of all Boko Haram elements and other criminals, also revealed that the command has also succeeded substantially to flush out those behind the recent spate of kidnappings in the state saying "We are not relenting in our efforts to keep Taraba safe, now that Boko Haram elements are considering Taraba a safe haven"
He however noted that the current level of insecurity in the state is a fallout of  the influx of strange people who have been moving into the state in trucks stressing that they have constituted serious security threat to the state.
It would be recalled that a Boko Haram kingpin, Kabiru Sokoto was re-arrested in Sabon-Gida, ) about 10 km from Tella bin 2012 by operatives of the Department of State Service, (DSS) after escaping from police custody.
