Nigerians Will Never Forget Chibok Girls, First Lady Warns

President Buhari's wife, Hajia Aisha, has said Nigeria will continue to remember the kidnapped Chibok school girls.

Over 200 girls were kidnapped in Chibok, Borno State, by Boko Haram sect on April, 14, 2014.

According to her, “I cannot but remember on a day like this, in a place like this, listening to the beautiful voices of the children; I cannot but remember the ones that we have lost and the ones that we are still searching for.”

Mrs. Buhari who was represented by the wife of the Vice President, Dolapo Osinbajo,  urged parents to raise up a generation of diligent, hard working children for the country.

The president’s wife noted that it is important for Nigerians to work together to make the country great.

She said: “The Police week 2016 clearly indicates the efforts been made by the Nigeria police to work hand in hand with the different parts of our society, in this case the youths.

“One of these lessons is a lesson of being a team player, the ability to work with others, work within a group for a common purpose. This is required more than ever in our nation because together we can do so much more.

“The students can make the connection between hard work and success thereby ensuring that we bring up a generation of diligent, faithful and hard working Nigerians in every field of endeavour.”

Buhari noted that the celebration showed the efforts been made by the Police to work with different segment of the society.

She added that Nigerians must appreciate the police force in their efforts to protect Nigerians under sun and rain.

“Reading through the objectives and importance of this occasion further highlights the importance of the message being passed on by this occasion that the police are here to keep the nation safe."
