Many Feared Killed as Bristow Helicopter Crashes in Lagos
 
It has been learnt that Bristow Sikorsky S-76 Helicopter with registration number 5N - BDG - 760540 had crashed at Oworonshoki area of Lagos State with 12 persons on board (but number of the dead yet to be confirmed), although eye witness account said four persons were already recovered immediately after the accident.

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) said the helicopter crashed en route from one of the nation's oil rigs at Oworonshoki in Lagos today evening.

The general manager, public affairs of NCAA, Fan Ndubuoke, confirmed that the helicopter scheduled to arrive in Lagos by 3 p.m. had 12 people on board, including the crew, but the number of casualties was yet to be determined.

At present, officials of the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB), National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Nigeria Police arrived at the site providing rescue operation for the victims.
