NAFDAC Boss Drilled by EFCC for Alleged Contract Scam

Today, the Director General National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Paul Orhii was today quizzed by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged contract scam and abuse of office.

According to source at the EFCC Abuja office, the embattled DG arrived at the commission at about 10: am and was subsequently drilled by the  EFCC operatives

He visit was premised on an invitation extended to him by the anti-graft commission requesting him to come and state his own side of the case.

Even though the details of the allegations against him are not released yet by the anti-graft agency, another source linked his travail to a petition by the former Director of Finance of the agency, Ademola Mogbojuri, accusing him of graft.

The press however learnt that after being drilled for several hours, he was granted administrative bail.

The EFCC spokesman cannot be reached to confirm the story.

Meanwhile, the NAFDAC DG had last week alleged that the allegations against him by his ex-staff was aimed at destroying his reputation, adding that there was no single merit in the petition which he forwarded to the EFCC.

Orhil  said Mogbojuri was incompetent, the reason he said he moved him out of the Finance Department.
