Nigerian man divorces his wife of 25 years because she took too long to cook him dinner

A Nigerian man has been granted a divorce because his wife brought his evening meals to him too late, according to local reports.
A court in Lagos heard that Olufade Adekoya, 57, was furious at his wife of 25 years for refusing to 'serve him' when he demanded.
'My wife had failed in her matrimonial obligations,' Mr Adekoya said of partner Olusola.
He was also quoted as saying: 'She does not prepare my food on time and I have warned her several times, but she would not listen to me.
'There is no point in harbouring a wife that makes me hungry... I am totally fed up,' Mr Adekoya told the hearing on an unspecified date.
His wife Olusola denied the allegations and accused her husband of simply wanting to be with someone else.
But judge Olu Adebiyi reportedly dissolved the unhappy union, concluding: 'The court had tried several times to reconcile their differences, but all efforts proved abortive.'
This is possibly the first time a man has been granted a legal separation over the timing of his dinner but there have been several bizarre Nigerian divorce cases.

In 2008, a Nigerian pensioner bowed to pressure from local Islamic leaders to divorce 82 of his 86 wives to avoid an eviction order under the Sharia legal system.
A 32-year-old businessman filed for divorce hours after his expensive wedding when he discovered his bride had been wearing padding to make her buttocks seem larger than they were.
In a case heard in Lagos, a wife was granted a divorce after claiming her husband often defecated in their cooking pots after getting drunk.
Meanwhile, a 40-year-old carpenter told another court in Lagos to dissolve his marriage of five years after complaining that his in-laws often intervened when he was beating his wife.
