The Nigerian Army in Lagos today disclosed that the soldiers were able to arrest some suspected Boko Haram members planning to infiltrate Lagos

According to reports, the suspected sect members were arrested when several raids were conducted in Lagos and Ogun States by 81 Division headquarters.

It was learnt that the sect had over time tried to infiltrate the South especially Lagos in an attempt to set up cells for terrorists, but were however nipped in the bud at every point.

The past General Officer Commanding (GOC), of the 81 Division, Major General Tamunomeibi Dibi, noted that despite the nature of Lagos, the command was able to ensure maximum security always. 

The GOC stated that many of the sect members were arrested during his tenure at the handing and taking over ceremony to the new GOC, Major General Edet

While the ex GOC did not announced the number of the sect members arrested, he alleged that they were many in the custody. 

Urging the soldiers in the division to be vigilant, he also promised that the terrorists would not penetrate Lagos and its environ.
