TY Danjuma Laments  Brother, Musa’s Alleged Philandering, Failed Marriages

Family is predetermined by fate, a man only gets to choose his friends. Thus every man will either bear with grace or dissent, his fortune or hard luck with kin. A good sibling excites the love and trust of filial ties but like intolerable scum on garden pond, a prodigal sibling incites fear and dread in the strands of filial relations. Consider the case of General Ty Danjuma and his younger brother, Musa, for instance; Ty Danjuma is unarguably a model brother, statesman and businessman. Many would readily describe him as a decent and humble billionaire.
He maintains an enviable social and business culture, and his love life, unlike most billionaires of his stature, is devoid of scandal or blemish of any kind. A distinguished and highly successful businessman, General T.Y. Danjuma is the founder and Chairman of South Atlantic Petroleum Limited. In his early life, he had a brilliant career in the Nigerian Army and retired as Chief of Army Staff in 1979.
His national honour as Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger, GCON, is the highest award given in Nigeria to a non-head of state. He also has several other national and international awards and titles, as well as honorary doctorate degrees from notable Nigerian and foreign Universities.
Musa Danjuma however, depicts an aberration of sort of his brother’s upstanding character.
Although Musa is also a successful businessman, a trained lawyer and billionaire, his personal life elicits contempt and awe in conservative and uncompromising moral circuits. The Executive Chairman of the Nigeria-America Line Limited and Comet Shipping Agencies Nigeria Limited maintains a seedy love life. As you read, his wife and ex-Nollywood star actress, Caroline, has moved out of his mansion in Ikoyi. The mother of three allegedly quit their marriage and packed out of their matrimonial home because of Musa’s many romantic trysts outside their marriage and their home.
Caroline has since taken solace in a serviced apartment somewhere in Victoria Island, Lagos. Until their marriage hit the rocks, Caroline lived with Musa as his fifth wife. Just before their love and marriage turned awry, rumours of incessant squabbles and battery trailed their marriage.
When Caroline could not cope anymore, she called it quits with Musa. No doubt, a man of Musa’s pedigree and romantic inclinations has to deal with issues arising from his past dalliances with women.
Just recently, he lost his first wife, Dr. Nkiru Nzegwu-Danjuma, a lawyer, poet and author. She died after a protracted battle with renal failure at the age of 57. Her remains were interred at the Ikoyi Vaults and Gardens, Lagos. A barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, the mother of four daughters (Saratu, Asibi, Jennifer and Jessica-all lawyers) had 31 years experience in law practice. Even though they had been separated for a long time, Musa was reportedly distraught and disconsolate when the news reached him.
It would be recalled that Musa conveniently forgot his heartfelt vows to his late wife and first love; despite the love and affection she showered on him, Musa went against the wind of caution, and decided to play the fields sow wild oats with nubile beauties. Soon after, he married a second wife, Pauline, who has been described with the best superlatives on account of her beauty. A discerning mind would have thought that Musa would slow his roll and concentrate on his home but like a dog fated to get lost, he would sooner divorce Pauline.
On one of his rollicking merry-go-round, Musa met doe-eyed, drop-dead gorgeous actress, Caroline, and decided to pitch his tent with her, taking her as wife number five. Now that his marriage to Caroline has hit an iceberg, speculations abound concerning Musa’s next line of action. Will he go ahead and marry a sixth wife? Or will he count his losses and retrace his steps to live and love like his elder brother, Ty Danjuma?
There is no gainsaying Ty Danjuma, Musa’s elder sibling, maintains a more honourable public and personal life. He does not frolic with women like Musa. Ty Danjuma remains true and faithful to his wife, Daisy. But the retired General is seriously unsettled by his brother’s marital failure and romantic inclinations. Sources close to him revealed that he earnestly seeks a solution to his brother’s persistent womanising.
