The state Commissioner of Police,  Edgal Imohimi, made this disclosure during a town hall meeting hosted by the Area J Police Command.

Edgal who emphasised on partnership said every community has its challenges, which the police will not relent in solving.

According to him,  "During the various town hall meetings that I have held, I discovered that different communities have their various problems.

" In Isolo, the Oba told me that their major problem is drug abuse and cultism following which we immediately went into partnership with the people.

"Within the shortest period, we made series of arrest, recovered and destroyed over N200m worth of drugs at Akala."

Imohimi added that some communities are peculiar with neighborhood crimes  which the command quickly complemented effort with strategy and technology.

He said, "These strategy entails community policing and partnership which gave the command the success recorded in Ikorodu.

" If this synergy can be reciprocated here then issues of neighborhood crimes will soon be a thing of the past.

"I encourage members of the public to speak out against drug abuse and cultism, as policemen can be transferred but the community members will remain."

He urged religious leaders, community leaders and public office holders to work together and preach to the people on the evils of cultism.

He also assured members of the public that the police will do their best under his watch as long as the people trust and show interest in the way they are being policed.
